I'm putting my consciousness towards trying to teach people through pictures and sculptures that there's something better in the world. That's what the world needs more of.
As a director, you're looking for ways to tell the story with the whole image and not primarily dialogue.
I think there's a preoccupation with the American market to make excuses and justify its past. If it isn't current, it means somebody has to make an excuse for it. If it's 'cult,' it gives it a sense of illegitimate legitimacy.
