There was no Internet, not even many cookbooks except the old reference books. So we would sit down at night, a group of six chefs, and we'd exchange recipes and each talk about how we were doing things. It was the only way to learn new ideas.
Change is the only constant, and to turn one's back and pretend that it is not coming is an exercise in futility.
There is no seam between my songs and myself-they really are me. It's not like I'm performing; I'm just singing stuff that I really believe.
