When I was 13, I started working in a nightclub with Ray Charles. That's the greatest school in the world, the school of the streets. Ray taught me how to read in Braille. He was only two years older than me, but it was like he was 100 years older.
My father passed away a couple of years ago, but he was very old. He was almost a 100 years old. And, you know, he had a very good life. He came to America and he had a good life.
It's hard to be perfect, It really is. I keep learning things after I've already bungled it.
To have a statue of you up 100 years from now at the Superdome, I think that's amazing.
