Those who eat too much or eat too little, who sleep too much or sleep too little, will not succeed in meditation. But those who are temperate in eating and sleeping, work and recreation, will come to the end of sorrow through meditation.
There is not in nature, a thing that makes man so deformed, so beastly, as doth intemperate anger.
We become just by performing just action, temperate by performing temperate actions, brave by performing brave action.
Let us love temperately, things violent last not.
Fortunately, the Canadian people in all their habits, are essentially a temperate people.
